My legal council is comfortable with releasing everything except any photos or PII. The only difference is that in Idaho, you have to redact everything except the minor’s initials and the year of their DOB. For example,
M—– S——-
–/–/2004Tanea ParmenterParticipantJason, would you be willing to share what data you plan on releasing?
Tanea ParmenterParticipantHi Cindy, we don’t have anything statewide in Idaho. I would love to see what has worked for other states, also a tracking method for our repeat runaways. We have a very basic repository and it would be neat to set up a better system for agencies to track our juveniles that runaway often. Anther area of concern is interviewing the child when located, some agencies do a great job of it, some barely at all. It would be nice to have consistency.
Tanea ParmenterParticipantIdaho uses CodeRED from OnSolve for AMBER alerts. We use it to issue the WEA.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Tanea ParmenterParticipantIdaho also has no time restrictions for issuing a WEA. We have had some complaints when we issue after 10pm. We implemented a new vendor last year, CodeRED and now have the ability to issue targeted WEA rather than solely statewide. We issued a WEA in April to a 4 county area late in the evening and received no complaints. Like Tennessee and Missouri, Idaho issues very few AA in a year.
Tanea ParmenterParticipantIdaho’s AMBER Alert Criteria includes wording for time: V. 2. The abduction occurred within 12 hours of initial activation of AMBER alert.
We do not, however, preclude an alert if the time extends beyond 12 hours. We will err on the side of the child and activate an alert even if the time extends beyond 12 hours. Link below to Idaho’s AMBER Alert statewide plan.
