CART Program Liaison
Vonyale Montgomery is a 26‐years retired veteran of the Memphis Police Department, where she continues to serve in a reserve capacity as a Community Impact Officer. During her tenure, she served in law enforcement, preventative, and administrative capacities ranging from duties involving criminal matters, safety/ security presentations and consulting, drug and gang youth education, policy and procedure maintenance and accountability. She was Investigative Supervisor to the Domestic Violence Unit where she was responsible for 20 Investigators with an average of 50 cases a day at the time of her retirement. While being assigned to Memphis Police Department’s Commission on Missing and Exploited Children as the Child Safety Specialist, she was instrumental in the formation and certification of Memphis’ first Child Abduction Response Team. Immediately after retiring, she became the Chief of Security for Baptist Health Sciences University. Upon leaving BHSU, she was able to dedicate more time to her position as Training Associate and CART Liaison for the National Criminal Justice Training Center at Fox Valley Technical College.
Vonyale is also the founder and CEO of Her Safety, Inc, a personal safety & awareness consulting company dedicated to “making personal safety personal.”
Vonyale is a former instructor of Criminal Justice for the University of Phoenix and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction both from Christian Brothers University, Memphis, Tennessee.
