The Arizona Department of Public Safety said cell phone providers were responsible for problems with AMBER Alerts issued in September 2018, in which people received multiple AMBER Alert messages, with some receiving the alerts continuously throughout the day following the original alert. Arizona officials urged cell phone users who had problems to contact their cell phone provider, and not to disable these important and potentially life-saving alerts on their mobile devices.
