Hey Melissa , There could be three different types of debrief . One could be the tactical debrief that occurs very soon after conclusion of the event . This type would be an immediate review of what went right and what went wrong and a general discussion of the event . The after action document is usually the end product of this type of debrief . These tactical debriefs usually occur after any major criminal occurrence in which significant resources are activated . The second type of debrief occurs in front of the AMBER oversight committee usually a week or two after the activation of the AMBER Alert . The purpose of this discussion is to see what worked well and what did not and to confirm the AMBER criteria was met and the activation was appropriate . It usually focuses on just the AMBER Alert activation while the tactical debrief focuses on entire operation . The third type is the psychological debrief which addresses personnel who may need a little help dealing with the intensity of the event . Hope this helps and I imagine will help generate some feedback.
