We will be doing some in the near future to introduce our new online webpage and automated alert systems.
Afterwards I hope to do some short training video and post them.

    Good Morning,
    I opt in for #1.
Option #2 I can be the POC for speaking about the AMBER and activation process of each AMBER. Further questioning
about the people involved, charges or going investigation I give back to the Det in charge of the case.

No i have not heard of it or used it. We are in the process of moving our AMBER alert to automation.
All of our alerts will be done in the field by the agency in our portal and all we will have to do
is read and approve. Plus any updates. This will seriously help with our Silver Alerts that number
    in the hundreds each year.

We didn’t get any grant funding. What do you plan to do with the funds? Check the Governors’ office.
    Keep us posted…great idea.
    Blessed Easter everyone.

I don’t have any of that because our local agencies handle their own leads.
but if someone can send me where information on where to research or find out more
    about VCC I’m really interested.
    Thanks,

Thanks to everyone has responded and shared input.
Do think we as state Clearing houser managers can have any kind of active
    role in changing the disparity?
The Psychologist in the news story called it the «Missing White Woman Snydrome» It’s historical.
Maybe if we start calling it what it is (once we educate ourseves a lttle) and INCLUDING THIS in our trainings
WE will start the «snowball» effect for change. Using interview like the one below in our training on missing persons.

I read your email and the first thing I thought about it the NCMEC posters that go out. They are posted in a lot of
public places i.e Wal-mart. You could always modify to just age when missing.
I don’t have a space to post missing persons.. if I did I think I would follow NCMEC leads

NC has not changed any criteria. We do have a clause b that allows me some flexibility. A lure is still treated as a runaway unless their is some endangerments of harm or death. For example we have acted when we had evidence of Sex Trafficking.

    HI Lyndsey
Hope all is well. NC holds an annual meeting in February or March. We invite each agency that actually activated and AMBER
ALert the year before. Preferably the Detective that worked the case will be the one that attends the meeting.
We let each person describe their case to everyone, report good and bad ecperiences. There is a question and answer session and then the
Center will give any updates and review. The last two times we held a meeting we used phone conference calling so no one would have to travel.
We did not have one in 2019 or 2020.
    Hope this helps.

    Sorry for the delayed response..
NC does not activate the WEA between 10:00pm and 6:000am. If the child is still missing the next
morning our plans are to activate between 6 and 6:30am

I have not heard of a five hour time line. I’ve been doing this in NC for ten years now and I not heard anyone say a specific time of 5 hours.
