AMBER Advocate Magazine
Issue 41
This issue highlights Family Roundtable meetings, where survivors and families of missing or abducted children share their experiences with law enforcement to improve practices and communication. Organized by the AMBER Alert Training Program and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the roundtables aim to give survivors a voice and foster collaboration. A multi-state AMBER Alert in Idaho and Arizona leads to the safe recovery of a 17-year-old girl, thanks to public tips and coordinated efforts by alert coordinators Leila McNeill, Tanea Parmenter, and Chrystal Moore. Bonnie Feller Hagan of South Dakota is profiled for her long-standing commitment to adapting alert systems to reach underserved communities. International briefs include Lithuania launching its AMBER Alert system, the EU recognizing the Police Expert Network on Missing Persons, South Africa partnering with Facebook to distribute alerts, and the Navajo Nation updating its AMBER Alert website to include information on the Ashlynne Mike Act.
