Additional Media Questions

Hi Folks,

Based on the request this week as well as a question we are asked regularly, we would like to build out two potential resources. I would love your thoughts on these:

1. A prepared spreadsheet (probably updated yearly, at the time of the annual report), which plans will opt in or out of using the Operations Protocol document, that has the following ready to go (by case and persons in alert) for media and academic requests:
• Dates and times and alert activation and cancellation or total duration
• Age, race, sex of children and suspects/adults in AMBER Alerts
• Missing location (City/County and State only)
• Investigating or requesting agency
• State or plan which activated the AMBER Alert
• NCMEC case type at intake

Are there other data points you would want ready to go for media/academic requests to be released by NCMEC? Would you like this information permanently accessible to coordinators?

2. A shared spreadsheet with information for tipsters, victims, family members, etc. who are willing to do media interviews. We regularly get asked about this, and I’m guessing you get the same question to. Assuming there are people we could list on a document of this nature, would it be useful to you?

I opt in for #1.
Option #2 I can be the POC for speaking about the AMBER and activation process of each AMBER. Further questioning
about the people involved, charges or going investigation I give back to the Det in charge of the case.

Thank you Nona. TO clarify, the list in number 2 would be for non-case interviews – like feel good or historical media requests highlighting the program overall.
