The GBI does not have a mandate such as the one in your bill. We do routinely track criminal data and trends within our state relating to crime and criminal cases. The GBI is the state of Georgia’s Criminal Justice Information Center. By mandate from the Governor and State Legislature we compile and maintain documentation on cases within the state each year. We routinely provide this information to the GBI Director and he is the individual who responds to the Governor or Legislative inquiries.
