Dutch police say they are surprised that most parents do not have current photographs of their children. Carlo Schippers of the National Bureau of Missing Persons said parents should always have a recent photo because it is critical when a child goes missing. Schippers helped set up the AMBER Alert program in the Netherlands and said the country's first two alerts were successful because they provided current pictures of the children. However, he noted that some recent missing child cases were hampered because police could not obtain good pictures of the children.
